What a DPDP notice must include
Under Section 5 of the DPDP Act, before or when you ask for consent you must tell people:
- What personal data you collect and the purpose for each use.
- How they can withdraw consent and exercise their rights.
- How they can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
The notice must stand on its own, in clear language, and be available in English or any of the 22 languages in the Eighth Schedule.
A notice is not consent
Publishing a notice is step one. You still need to ask for consent before analytics or ad scripts run, let people withdraw easily, and keep a record. The ConsentPlix free plan does that for one website, with no credit card.
This generator gives you a starting draft, not legal advice. Have it reviewed if your business handles sensitive data, children's data or large volumes.
